Owners of dirty mugs that are periodically washed under the pressure of colleagues, it is important not to make a fatal mistake — to use a common sponge for this.

It is, Starke points out, the dirtiest item in the office:

a common sponge in the office wipes the dishes countless times, after which the sponge remains wet for a long time and collects microbes from the entire team.

After washing the mug with such a sponge, it is much easier to get sick than if you do not wash it at all.

Therefore, leaving a dirty mug on the table, especially during the flu season — is a great way to avoid falling victim to another epidemic.

If you decide to “refresh” the mug in the office, it is best to rinse it with water, adding liquid soap if desired, and then dry it with a paper towel. Or wash the mug at home.
